Ground improvement for building foundations shortens construction time and reduces both overall and differential settlement after construction is completed.

		GTA installed 800,000 feet of vertical drains for 12 building sites at the U.S. Navy's Home Port Facility at Pascagoula Mississippi. Another 500,000 feet were installed for a new berthing pier. Total installation time was under four months. 4,000 of the drains were installed underwater.

		Vertical drains were used to consolidate a peat bog for construction of a 12-story office building in Chicago. Construction time was reduced by 30 days and $140,000 was saved.
